The Sacred Golden Caramels of Kandacrunchalan are described by Henrietta Von Marzipan to be "the most delicious sweets that ever ever existed". They are caramel cubes created by performing the Caramelization ritual.
Description[]
The Sacred Golden Caramels are made from the most valuable qualities of the person who falls victim to the caramelization. The taste of the resulting caramel cubes reflect those qualities: Numbuh 1's leadership skills tasting bold, yet smooth; Numbuh 2's intelligence tasting sharp, but satisfyingly complex; Numbuh 3's cheerfulness almost tasting too sweet; and Numbuh 4's ferocity tasting simplistic, but very strong.
The ritual will only take the single most prized quality from an individual to flavor the caramels, and after it is gone the process will no longer work for that person. This was shown when Henrietta, upon losing her femininity, was able to withstand the golden caramelization energy without any further effects. However, presumably if the curse is broken the victim will once again be susceptible to having the original quality taken.
The cubes, being the result of Caramelization, is also the way to reverse its effects. By sharing a cube made from one's own qualities, a victim will then absorb the caramels and again reattain the qualities previously lost.

The ancient Mayan text
The Sacred Golden Caramels are ancient sweets first created by the ancient Mayans in Guatemala, at the Kandacrunchalan pyramid. They wrote down to the process to create the caramel cubes in a book, which would later find itself in the hands of Henrietta Von Marzipan in modern time.
Henrietta and Numbuh 5 traveled together to Guatemala to create the Sacred Golden Caramels, not knowing the unfortunate side effects of the process. After starting the caramelization ritual, Henrietta fell victim to the sacrificing-part and lost not only her kind personality, but even switched gender (going by "Heinrich Von Marzipan" from then on). Unable to keep herself from eating the newly made Caramels, Numbuh 5 managed to salvage a single caramel cube and hid it away. Heinrich was left with the bag of caramels and quickly arrested by the authorities (Operation: J.E.W.E.L.S.).

Five years later (Operation: C.A.R.A.M.E.L.), the two former friends met again in Guatemala where Heinrich managed to make Sacred Golden Caramels from Numbuh 5. He went on to do the same to the rest of Sector V, as well as several other sectors in North America. The ancient candy magic were eventually stopped by Numbuh 5, who reversed the effects on Heinrich and Sector V.
