Soup Can And Magnified Photon Phlaser
The S.C.A.M.P.P., also called the P.H.L.A.Z.E.R. or B.O.T.T.L.E.R., is a laser weapon that uses a lens to convert a flashlight into a green energy ray. It was invented by Numbuh 2, and needs to be charged via an electrical outlet to function, but was later upgraded with batteries in the flashlight, allowing mobile outdoor transportation.
Description[]
My gi-hugest contribution to the standard-issue KND artillery! A key factor in containing adult uprisings during the coffee shortages two semesters ago. A little on the heavy side, but with almost no recoil and a design so simple even a first grader could handle it." -from the 2x4 Technology Handbook.
History[]
In Operation: N.O.-P.O.W.U.H., it was used by Numbuh 5 against the Heli-Teacher. Later, she tried to use it against a Grilled Cheese Sandwich, but without the electricity provided by the hamsters the weapon didn't work. It was later redesigned to work with the batteries in the flashlight.
It appears as a weapon in Operation: V.I.D.E.O.G.A.M.E., unlocked in the level S.P.A.N.K.A.R.I.F.F.I.C., and it also appears in the level C.A.V.I.T.Y.-C.A.V.E..
In Cartoon Network: Punch Time Explosion, the S.C.A.M.P.P. (misspelled with only one P in Numbuh One's character trailer) is part of Numbuh One's punch time explosion move. He fires two of them in many directions (though this part is removed in the console versions) and uses it to ignite and detonate the salsa from his S.P.I.C.E.R.s. It's also an item in the arena fights that the player can pick up and shoot at an opponent. In this game, the S.C.A.M.P.P. launches bottles rather than lasers.
Trivia[]
- In the Kids Next Door 2x4 Technology Handbook, it is oddly renamed the B.O.T.T.L.E.R. (Big Old Totally Tremendous Laser Ejection Rifle), which sounds similar to the B.O.T.T.L.E.C.A.P., another laser weapon.
- This weapon's production name seems to be the "Phlazer", in reference to the "Photon Phlaser" part of its acronym. It is referred to as such in a magazine featured in Operation: N.A.U.G.H.T.Y..
