Synopsis[]
On a Halloween night, Numbuh 4 thinks that Halloween is stupid. Numbuh 2 bets him that he can't get more candy than the others, so Numbuh 4 fights with Captain Stickybeard to get the candy he needs.
Plot[]
The episode begins through the POV of a machine using its targeting system to lock on to Numbuh 4, who is busy playing video games. He sees the cyborg and begins to freak out. The cyborg in question is Numbuh 1, who was a cyborg, approaching Numbuh 4 menacingly and telling him he will be "joinified." Numbuh 4 then runs into Numbuh 5, whose brain is protruding from her head with a fork in it and was a zombie. As Numbuh 4 panics, his fellow operatives break out in laughter for fooling him. It’s Halloween and they’re dressed up in their costumes. Numbuh 2, who was a bug, tells him he should come trick-or-treating with them, but Numbuh 4 scoffs at the idea of Halloween being for babies and dressing in costumes such as "girly butterflies" and begging adults for candy (unintentionally offending Numbuh 3 who was dressed as such). The rest of Sector V then challenges him to a bet: whoever gets the most candy by the end of the night wins. Numbuh 4 accepts the challenge. And Numbuh 3 explained and informed him that they get candy unless they are in a pretty costume. Numbuh 5 teases Numbuh 4 about being pretty and Wally got so mad, he didn't want to wear a costume and he also added that he was not pretty: he was handsome.
Later that night, all the neighborhood kids are out in costumes trick-or-treating. Numbuh 4 approaches the first house, candy bag in hand. His "costume" is just a cardboard sign around his neck that says, "gimee". He rings the doorbell and is greeted by Mo and Cheryl, two freakishly overjoyed grownups, who drop a single piece of butterscotch into his bag. Numbuh 4 celebrates this and happily moves on to the next house. He rings the next doorbell, but rather than parents, he is greeted by Captain Stickybeard and his candy goons who grab his bag and ride off in their ship, Sweet Revenge. (The house was used as a crude camouflage.) Numbuh 4 runs after the ship but sadly isn't fast enough. He then sees the rest of his teammates with full bags of candy; he ensures them he's "just getting started".
On the ship, Captain Stickybeard and his fearless candy pirates celebrate a job well-done, while devising a plan to steal candy from more kids tonight. A pirate named Dumb John Silver steers the ship, unaware that he's supposed to be an evil pirate; Stickybeard and the rest of the pirates make fun of him for being soft and emotional. Stickybeard observes Numbuh 4's loot and is disappointed to find only a single piece of candy. Regardless, Chewy and Gooey store it with the rest of the candy.
The pirates park Sweet Revenge at a cul-de-sac house. They notice a kid in a ghost costume approaching with a bag; it turns out to just be Numbuh 4 hiding in the bag. The pirates take the bait and the bag is tossed with the rest of the stolen candy. Numbuh 4 emerges and is dismayed to see that his bag of candy is lost in the mountainous heap of other candy. He eventually finds it and escapes out the back of the ship to continue the bet. Seconds later however, he realizes that he could've just taken all the candy that was in the ship and he would've won.
At the next house, the pirates notice a kid in a pirate costume (Numbuh 4) carrying a ginormous bag of candy. The pirates rush out and jump onto the big bag. With the pirates distracted, Numbuh 4 runs to the top of the ship where he finds a crying Dumb John Silver, who, fed up with the teasing from Captain Stickybeard and his crew, angrily quits and walks out the front door of the house. Stickybeard and company, who are having a hard time dragging the heavy bag to the ship, decide to see what's inside. One of the pirates takes a big chomp out of a brick. Before they can realize they've been tricked, Numbuh 4 sails away, leaving a discouraged group of candy thieves.
Numbuh 4, believing to have instantly won the bet with a ship-full of candy, sails towards the treehouse. He is then attacked by Chewy and Gooey, who wrestle him over control of the ship steering wheel. They eventually lose control of the ship and it begins to sail sporadically throughout the neighborhood. Just as Chewy and Gooey gain the upper hand, they both notice the ship veering off a giant cliff and abandon ship. Numbuh 4 screams as the ship soars in the night sky and towards the ground below.
Back at the treehouse, the rest of Sector V are happily bragging about how much candy they got and teasing Numbuh 4 about how little they think he got, with Numbuh 3 being the only one to defend him and hoping he didn't do too bad. The episode ends with a triumphant Numbuh 4 crashing Sweet Revenge through the treehouse with his shipload of candy, the victor of the Halloween bet.

Trivia[]
- This was a Halloween-themed episode and originally aired on October 29.
- In the beginning of the episode, it's made to look like Numbuh 4 is being stalked and attacked by his teammates. A moment later, it's revealed they were just in Halloween costumes to scare him.
- Costumes:
- Numbuh 1 - Locutus of Borg (a likely reference to Numbuh 1's resemblance to Star Trek's Jean-Luc Picard)
- Numbuh 2 - What appears to be some sort of Batman parody, with ties glued together to form a cape and ice cream cones attached to a hat.
- Numbuh 3 - A butterfly
- Numbuh 4 - A cardboard sign hanging around his neck that reads "gimee" with the 'e' capitalized and backwards; later a pirate
- Numbuh 5 - A zombie with a spoon sticking out of her brain
- The only candy Numbuh 4 was able to get by regular means of trick-or-treating was a single piece of butterscotch. He later offers to trade his entire stash stolen from Stickybeard to Numbuh 2 for the same piece (which had been separated from his own pile).
- Despite lacking intelligence, Numbuh 4 actually comes up with a slightly clever plan to take over and hijack Stickybeard's ship.
- The transition screens in this episode are brightly red, unlike all other episodes where they are either black or a still from the last scene. This is fixed on the DVD release Cartoon Network Halloween 2: Grossest Halloween Ever.
Series continuity[]
- Numbuh 3's butterfly wings are different from the ones she has used previously in the series.
- Numbuh 4's horrible math skills are again shown when he counts "One, two, six", rather than counting to three.
- Stickybeard called Numbuh 4 "the stupid one", which he also did back in Operation: M.O.V.I.E..
Pop culture references[]
- Numbuh 1's line, "You will be joinified", is a reference to the line "You will be assimilated", commonly said by the Borg from Star Trek. Numbuh 1 is also dressed up like a Borg.
- Numbuh 5's line, "Oh, and don't forget to wear your tutu, pretty boy. It's cold out there." might be a reference to the line, "...and don't forget your booties 'cause it's cold out there today." from the 1993 film Groundhog Day.
- One girl appears to be dressed up as Marvel's Iron Fist, but without the character's logo.
- Dumb John Silver is a parody of the character Long John Silver from "Treasure Island".
Goofs/Errors[]
- Someone dressed as a pink bunny is seen trick-or-treating at a door leading to a garage, instead of the house.
- The first house Numbuh 4's visits does not have flowers next to the entrance until he appears at the door.
- Numbuh 4 rings the doorbell on the right side of the door with his left hand, which would be a rather awkward maneuvre instead of using his right hand.
- The outside of the house Stickybeard used to steal Numbuh 4's candy changes from when Numbuh 4 approached it, with the outside changing colors and details disappearing when Stickybeard's ship is revealed behind the house.
- When Numbuhs 1, 2, 3 and 5 walk past Numbuh 4, they have a more concerned look on their faces. But when Numbuh 2 starts talking to Numbuh 4, their faces instantly change to really happy instead.
- When the shot pans over the Sweet Revenge, the two regular pirates next to Stickybeard are leaning on the two other railings on the back of the ship. When the shot changes to one closer to Stickybeard, both pirates are leaning against the same railing.
- The house attached to the ship is also not visible during the panning shot.
- Right before Numbuh 4 crashes the ship into the treehouse, Numbuh 2 notices a single piece of candy drops from out of nowhere and calls it butterscotch. The candy looks more like peppermint, as the butterscotch wrapper at the beginning had more of an orange color scheme.
- When Numbuh 2 picks up the butterscotch, his glove is suddenly missing. It's back on his hand when he emerges from the candy pile moments later.
- Numbuh 1's bag of candy is also missing in this scene.
- When Numbuh 4 is revealed at the end, the camera attached to Numbuh 1 is missing its colorful buttons.
- In the Brazilian dub, the line about trading butterscotch with Numbuh 2 was said by Numbuh 1, instead of Numbuh 4.
