Crayon Renderings Implicate Mostly Everyone

Plot[]

The episode begins with Numbuh 3 attempting to finish her coloring map homework as she still hasn't finish it. She asked Numbuh 2 about what color he would pick if he were North Dakota because Numbuh 3 had to finish coloring in the map of the USA for Social Studies and she had 27 states left to color in. Numbuh 4 believes and suggests that she should finish her homework during lunch break, which Numbuh 2 counters that he will miss the lunch special. Suddenly, a group of Hall Monitors crash through the windows and arrested Numbuh 4 for wedging Paulie Marcus in the future. While exiting the school bus train, Numbuh 2 and Numbuh 3 were puzzled. Numbuh 4 would usually get arrested after doing a wedgie. As Hoagie and Kuki made their way along down the hallway at school, they saw more Hall Monitors arresting other kids for future bad things.

This incident along with potential future crime arrest had arouse Numbuh 2 attention and decided to play detective and investigate. Unfortunately, Numbuh 2 is also arrested for future investigation, as he is taken away, he begged Numbuh 3 to investigate in his stead and asked her to find Joe Balooka for more info and also informed her to wear the hat and it would make her look cool and detective-like so she did. However, she is still too distracted in her mapping color and still had to get to the bottom of what was going on and nevertheless went to Joe for answers.

She found Joe Balooka in a classroom, scrapping at chewing gums off of the desks. Numbuh 3 asked Joe for coloring advice. But Joe didn’t have time to help Kuki’s coloring map problem because he had to scrape the gum off the desks before lunch comes. Numbuh 3 made a joke about gum being “bubblegum pink” since he was covered in gum but Joe felt embarrassed by his duty. He instead told her about the Safety Patrol recent news where it is revealed that Delightful Children From Down The Lane became the commission for the Safety Patrol and mostly likely responsible for the recent arrests. However, he is arrested for another future crime and begged Kuki to find the DCFDTL to "map it out", which she mistaken as a "map coloring party", goes to see them in the cafeteria.

She entered the cafeteria only to be disappointed that the party is the worst and there were no maps or crayons anywhere and then she found the DCFDTL eating their breakfast with a mysterious kid being their confidant. As usual, Numbuh 3 asked the DCFDTL about the map color. The Delightful Children were mad and puzzled but Kuki showed them a crayon to which they sarcastically responded, "You’re smarter than you look, Sanban," and that made Numbuh 3 beam with joy, to which they reveal that they set up a "Pre-Deliquent" class to arrest children before the crime but Kuki still thought there was still a map coloring party going on. The Delightful Children laughed evilly about the "Map Coloring Party" and said that it was being held in detention and everyone was invited.

She headed to detention for the "party" only to meet up with Numbuh 2 and explained the recent investigation. However, she mostly ignored Numbuh 2 because Numbuh 3 was still too busy with the map coloring but showed the crayon that the mysterious kid dropped. Numbuh 2 deduced that the crayon is from an art room abandoned over 25 years ago and when he told Numbuh 3 to go investigate, he soon tricked her by telling that the old abandoned art room had got the crayons she needed for her homework. Numbuh 2 then told her that it was full of crayons and Numbuh 3 felt for it. But when she arrived in the old, abandoned art room, it was very quiet and very spooky but suddenly, Numbuh 3 saw the Hall Monitors with the mysterious kid, who was drawing out future crimes. As Kuki watched with interest, she was amazed and a bit puzzled but she remembered what Hoagie said about the old abandoned art room being filled with crayons but it turned out Numbuh 2 was right about the crayons. Kuki beamed and she was glad to have Hoagie on her side and on Sector V and even helping her with the investigation.

There she quickly learns that it is Oliver, who was behind knowing the future of kids' behavior. Oliver drew a future picture of someone throwing water balloons. As Numbuh 3 backed away silently and slowly, the Delightful Children arrived and stopped her from escaping. The Delightful Children, who were in on the Hall Monitor’s scheme, then attempted to have the Hall Monitors arrest poor Kuki. But it was then that the DCFDTL were arrested for running in the halls even though they said it would be too childish but they ran off anyway. Numbuh 3 was relieved and it would also serve the DCFDTL right for tricking her about the "Map Party". Shortly after, the hall monitors try to arrest Numbuh 3 for trying to pull the fire alarm next Thursday. However, she escapes from them and ran as fast as her legs could carry her and ran into a supply closet where she saw Joe Balooka. Joe tells Numbuh 3 why he was not arrested - he has friends on the force, so he cut a deal with them and they felt relieved that they weren’t in detention but poor Numbuh 3 still had to finish coloring in her map.

Joe quickly persuades Numbuh 3 that he knows someone that can help them. Joe led Numbuh 3 to the cafeteria, where Oliver was there waiting for them and she was arrested by the hall monitors. Joe had double crossed Numbuh 3, who said said that she should had never had fallen in love with him but she really didn’t because she figured that it would sound a bit dramaticy but in the end, he too was double crossed by Oliver and was arrested for trying to cheat on a pop quiz. Soon after that, the hall monitors are also arrested because Oliver had claimed they were going to chew gum in class. He has now become the only kid NOT in detention. He revealed to Numbuh 3 his plan. He only pretended that he could look into the future so while everyone else was in detention, he would be first in line for lunch. However his plans were ruined when he found out that the cafeteria was serving lima bean sandwiches, instead of his beloved pizza bagels which were next week's lunch.

Pop Culture References[]

  • The plot of this mission is a reference to the movie Minority Report.
    • Numbuh 2's phrase "pre-delinquency" in particular is a tribute to the phrase "pre-crime" used in it
  • The Detective Kuki also bears a strong resemblance to Inspector from the Pink Panther Series.
  • Numbuh 3 said "With great hats comes great responsibility" is a reference to the ancient adage "With great power comes great responsibility", this paraphrase also used in Marvel Comics' Spider-Man.

  • This is the last appearance of Numbuh 2 as a detective.
  • This is the only appearance of Numbuh 3 as a detective.
  • Nigel and Abby are not present at all during this episode.
  • It is unknown how the other students got out of detention or how long they were in it.
  • The DCFDTL are shown eating the breakfast cereal "Extra Dry Health O's" in the cafeteria.
  • Oliver's hair bears a resemblance to Sideshow Bob from The Simpsons.
  • Kuki said that she should have never fallen in love with Joe Balooka but she really didn’t, which was why Numbuh 3 added, "Please, I just thought it would sound all dramaticy and stuff if I said that,". Her just joking that she is in love with Joe possibly alludes to her already being in love with Numbuh 4 ever since Operation N.A.U.G.H.T.Y., where Wally gave Kuki a present and Numbuh 3 fell in love with Numbuh 4, gave him the biggest hug, and they officially became boyfriend and girlfriend.
  • Only Numbuh 3 interacted with the Delightful Children like she did in Operation: L.O.V.E.
