Trivia[]
- The plot of this episode is based around losing items between couch cushions.
- The list of operatives turning 13 included:
- Huck Leard (named after storyboard artist Quack Leard)
- Lewis Tuttle
- Betsy Stevens
- Wa Chung
- Nicky Romps
- Megan Zavala
- Peggy Bocker
- The programs Numbuh 4 and 3 wanted to watch were the Manly Man Yelling and Dropping Heavy Things Hour and the Rainbow Monkey Share-Time Special!
- Sector C is confirmed to be located in China.
- Wacky Dave claims that "the crevice" leads to the bottom of the world, which ends up leading to China. This is based on an old misconception that digging all the way through the Earth from America would lead to China, when it would in fact lead to somewhere in the Indian ocean west of Australia.
- It's never revealed exactly where in the world that Couch World is located, but it is close enough to the Sector V treehouse that they can switch channels without moving away.
- A "dust bunny" is a small clump of dust that forms under furniture. A lot of languages have their own version of this name.
- The purple 2x4 Vacuum weapon that Numbuh 5 wields was planned to be included in the cancelled H.I.P.P.I.E.-H.O.P. Collector's Set.
Series continuity[]
- This is the first episode, albeit a cameo, to feature Nigel's cousin, Numbuh 10. It is also the second appearance of the KNN, and the only appearance of the KNN Anchorman.
- This is also the first time Sector C's treehouse appears, but Chinese KND has appeared since Operation: C.H.A.D..
- The last time Numbuh 4 went into a pocket world was in Operation: C.L.O.S.E.T., when he went into Billy's closet along with his sector.
- The Couch Daves and the Dust Bunnies make their first and only appearance in the series.
- Numbuhs 168 and 888 make their first appearance, and become semi-regular background characters starting next season.
Cultural references[]
- The couch's setting is based on the Roman Empire due to its appearance.
- One of the programs being flipped through was a dating show with a wolf and a sheep. The sheep resembles Sheep from Sheep in the Big City, a series made by Mo Willems who also wrote this episode.
Goofs[]
- Sector V's TV can be operated with the single button underneath it, but that would be able to change channel in one direction and nothing else, meaning the remote was in fact necessary to operate the TV.
- After Numbuh 4 wakes up, some of the Daves are drawn without eyes.
- The amount of keys that make up Emperor Dave's crown (a parody of golden laural wreaths from Roman times) change between different angles.
- Some Daves appear several places in the crowd at the same time, or switch location between shots.
- After Emperor Dave knocks down Wallabee while laughing, the crowd keeps laughing without sound.
- The dust bunny that screams at wacky Dave does not have any pupils when it screams, but it did have pupils when Dave was walking past it a second earlier.
- Also when the dust bunny screams, the bunny next to it is nowhere to be seen.
- The big brown square underneath Numbuh 4's chariot before the race begins moves to be under Dave's chariot when wacky Dave explains the rules.
- Numbuh 4 is holding to shoe laces in each hand as the reigns for his dust bunnies, but when he says, "Oh that's it!", he is only holding one shoe lace in each hand.
- Emperor Dave dropped his shoe laces in order to make his "too much information" joke, but is then holding them again when Numbuh 4 starts off while Dave is still laughing.
- Wacky Dave was standing next to Emperor Dave while laughiing, but has disappeared when Dave starts racing.
- Numbuh 4 and Dave were to start the race with the remote hanging behind them, but they somehow started on the other side of the track when they began racing.
- There are a lot of inconsistencies during the race of where exactly they are in the stadium.
- The track is much narrower just before Numbuh 4 grabs the remote than earlier previously shown.
- Wacky Dave waved the finish flag at the end of the race, but could also be seen in the crowd reacting to Numbuh 3 grabbing the remote.
- It's not known how Numbuhs 1, 2 and 5 knew to bring vacuum-related 2x4 technology to Sector V, when Numbuh 4 never specified what type of emergency Sector C was allegedly experiencing.
- The green S.C.A.M.P.E.R. is colored gray in the background of the close-up shot of Numbuh 168 and 888. It's also lacking a lot of its exterior features, such as the door and a rocket.
- Inside of the S.C.A.M.P.E.R. we can see the window on its other side, which is colored sky blue, despite being inside of the treehouse with big ceramic containers around it.
- Numbuh 888 did not have a small cup next to his bowl when Sector V landed, but he does have it in the close-up shot.
- During the credits scene, Numbuh 4 is sitting on the couch eating pop corn, but the couch is not up against a wall. Earlier in the episode, the couch was in the middle of the room with a control panel behind it.
