The KND Scientist with Yu-Gi-Oh Hair is a Kids Next Door Scientist who often works at the Arctic and Deep Sea Science Labs. His most notable attribute is his distinct hair, that resembles that of Yugi Mutou[1] from the popular series, "Yu-Gi-Oh!".
History[]
After Father's Animalization Ray wiped out most of the KND, turning them into defenseless animals, a handful of KND operatives, including this Scientist, fled Earth, barely missing the ray's blast. He and Numbuh 42 helped Numbuh 202 modify the Age-o-tonic Birthday Suits so it would defend them from the Animalization Ray's effect. They soon after departed from Moonbase in a Subway Shuttle Pod with Numbuh 362, Numbuh 92, and Numbuh 59. Unfortunately, the Birthday Suits soon failed and the few remaining KND operatives, sans Tommy who was left behind at Moonbase, were turned into animals, with this Scientist turning into a Yak. He was later turned back to normal when Tommy destroyed the Animalization Ray.
He, along with Numbuh 202 and other KND scientists at the Arctic Lab were able to restore Heinrich Von Marzipan to his human form after he had transformed into a chocolate monster and was defeated by Numbuh 5. They seemingly enjoyed eatingthe leftover chocolate from the process (Operation: C.H.O.C.O.L.A.T.E.).
He was present at the Deep Sea Science Lab when Cree Lincoln broke into the base as revenge for the scientists infecting her with the Unpoppable Zit. She breached the contamination chamber for Patient C, prompting all scientists present (including to evacuate the base (Operation: V.I.R.U.S.). He can be seen running away from Patient C in the post-credits scene (Operation: O.U.T.B.R.E.A.K.).
He was part of the group of scientists who helped set up a rocket that was to be used for a mission to accelerate beyond the ridiculous barrier. They successfully launched the rocket, but it malfunctioned on the way and crash-landed on Earth (Operation: P.L.A.N.E.T.).
A great number of scientists were present at the Kids Next Door 2x4 Technology Convention, showcasing new inventions and improvements within 2x4 Technology. Oddly, this scientist is only seen running away from the Mechapillars when they attacked the convention. It later turned out to just be a cover to watch Doctor Time Space and the Continuums in peace (Operation: A.M.I.S.H.)
This scientist, along with many others, helped Numbuh 74.239 build, prepare, and eventually launch a birthday cake-shaped rocket so Numbuh 1 could be sent into orbit to represent the Galactic Kids Next Door. He, and every other operative, fled the scene when an angry Father found and invaded their sooper secret hideout, still looking for his pipe (Operation: I.N.T.E.R.V.I.E.W.S.).
Trivia[]
- The design of this scientist is an obvious reference to Yugi[1] from the incredibly popular Japanese Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise. Because of this, he is the most infamous of the scientists with fans.
- While this scientist's codename is unconfirmed, it's likely that he was supposed to be either Numbuh 222 or Numbuh 22, as they were both referred to as "KND Technology Officers" on the KND Production Website, with the only other KND operative being referred to as such being Numbuh 202. Any other scientists are either not listed on the site (275, 74.239, 71.562), or didn't exist when the list was made (all of the Scientists from Operation: V.I.R.U.S.).
- Additionally, very few of the scientists were given codenames production-wise, usually being referred to as "Scientist #".[2] The few exceptions would (in theory) include Numbuhs 222 (GRADUATES; S3), 275, 74.239, 71.562 (all from FERAL; S4), and 2x4 (SCIENCE; S6), who were designed as standalone characters in mind (And as such, are all listed as "Codename Scientist"), in contrast to the other scientists, who were all incidental designs (The ARCHIVE Scientists, the Deep Sea Lab Scientists, and the Honor Roll Nerds).
- When asked by a fan through a Q&A on the old Numbuh 8 KND fanforums in 2004, Warburton stated that he didn't know the operative's codename at that time.[3]
