Three members of Negative Sector V

The technology made by the Destructively Nefarious Kids is the complete opposite of the 2x4 Technology used by the Kids Next Door. While the KND's technology is made from everyday household items; the DNK technology is made using stainless steel, chrome plating, leather, and looks a lot more high-tech. Like the Kids Next Door, the Destructively Nefarious Kids also give acronymic names to their inventions. They heavily resemble the weapons and vehicles used by the Delightful Children From Down the Lane.

Construction[]

Where the KND would use wooden planks and cardboard, the DNK uses sheets of metal and leather. Examples include: Negative Numbuh 86 wears a metal battle helmet where Numbuh 86 wears a spaghetti strainer; Negative Numbuh 86's team also wear metal helmets where the Decommissioning Squad wear old projector casings; the DNK Treehouse was built with steel walls, while the Sector V Treehouse has wooden walls and floors. Most weapons and gadgets are equipped with spikes to increase damage and intimidation.

Trivia[]

  • The Kids Next Door's technology was originally supposed to be high-tech and shiny, but the people at Cartoon Network said that the show Dexter's Laboratory already owned that kind of gear, so Tom Warburton was asked to come up with something else for the series.[1]
    • So in order to make the opposite of 2x4 technology, the design team went back to the original idea and made everything high-tech and polished.
  • DNK Technology is presented with CGI graphics and acronyms like KND Technology. But, to fit the opposite theme, there are notable differences:
    • KND Technology is presented by a computerized woman's voice, while DNK Technology is introduced by a computerized man's voice.
    • Acronyms are highlighted in red for the KND, while the DNK acronyms are blue (red and blue are often used for competition-related purposes, especially teams).
    • The CGI designs for the KND are green, while the DNK designs are red (to fit the opposing situation of friendlies and hostiles).
    • The KND acronyms utilize the font called "Aura" to represent their carefree thoughts and child-like desires, while the DNK acronyms use the military font for their serious and intimidating nature
    • KND technology names are shown on the bottom of the screen, while DNK technology names are on top of the screen.
