The Cadets Next Door is the organization for the cadets training to enter the Kids Next Door. They do their training at the Kids Next Door Arctic Base, under the tutelage of Numbuh 60. Upon graduation, they attend a ceremony on the Kids Next Door Moonbase and choose their code name.

Recruitment[]

Cadets are recruited by KND operatives who see their potential for the Kids Next Door. Kids may also send an application to be accepted into the KND Training Academy, of which the KND apparently receive "zillions" every year; most of which are turned down due to the applicant not being fully ready for the daily challenges facing KND operatives. Before entering the Cadets Next Door, the kids must apply and pass a written entrance exam.

Applicants have a higher chance of being accepted if they have already trained in different areas, such as running, tying knots, playing hide-and-seek, and finding their own specialty to develop over the course of their stay at the academy.^[1]

Training[]

Once accepted, the new cadet is sent to train at the KND Training Academy at the Kids Next Door Arctic Base. They spend six weeks at the academy, being trained by the drill sergeant, Numbuh 60.^[1]

The training provided include different levels of combat practice; starting with a poorly constructed exercise robot, to a genuine Octopaddler.

Graduation[]

The Cadets Next Door graduation ceremony is held once a year up on the Kids Next Door Moonbase. The supreme leader is present to welcome all new operatives into the Kids Next Door, and most operatives attend the ceremony. The cadets line up on stage and are called up one by one to the front, where they insert their booger into the C.O.D.E.-M.O.D.U.L.E. and choose their code name. Once the codename is accepted, the C.O.D.E.-M.O.D.U.L.E. assigns the new operative to a sector.

There is also an after party after the ceremony where the new operatives can get to know older operatives and eat cake.

Operatives Formerly Seen As Cadets[]

Trivia[]

The Cadets Next Door have a yearbook printed after graduation, much like high schools do in the US.
The youngest kid to graduate from the academy was only ten months old.^[1]
The tutorial level of the game Operation B.E.S.T. is cadet training at the north pole. This training includes defeating evil snowmen, as well as sneaking past them unnoticed.
Numbuh 41 and Numbuh 43 are erroneously seen in the crowd of KND Cadets in Operation: G.R.A.D.U.A.T.E.S., portrayed as much younger than they normally are.
Six new operatives were designed specifically for the Cadets' Graduation, the rest of them are incidentals seen previously, such as Hooves or Eggbert.
